Program Overview

Expand student success in the cutting-edge field of cybersecurity in this Washington DC program. Discover what it takes to lead in cybersecurity from a former FBI Cybersecurity Director, where threats to national security are constantly under surveillance. Take an investigative approach on a visit to a local cybersecurity company to uncover possible career opportunities. At the FBI Headquarters, go on a self-guided tour with interactive exhibits and artifacts that demonstrate the FBI’s role in national security. Learn cryptologic techniques in a workshop at the National Cryptologic Museum, getting an inside look into the 18th to 20th centuries of cryptology. Meet with a faculty member at a Washington DC university to find out about cyber defense or cyber engineering degree programs.

Engage students in a hands-on learning experience of U.S. history foundations and landmarks. On a tour of the memorials, students are invited to reflect on the sacrifices of brave soldiers who have defended American ideals and freedoms. At the U.S. Capitol Building, see the artistic representations of history in the Crypt, Rotunda and the National Statuary Hall. Go on a journey through the origins of American independence at the National Archives, viewing the Bill of Rights, U.S. Constitution and Declaration of Independence. Visit the U.S. Marine Corps Memorial, also known as the Iwo Jima Memorial, to see the statue of six Marines raising the American flag.
