Our nine-day program to London provides an introduction to London’s West End theater scene and then some! Students learn theater skills from professional cast members in two private workshops, explore the city on sightseeing tours, visit Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre and experience more behind-the-scenes magic.
Depart for an overnight flight from the U.S. to London.
Arrive in London. In the afternoon, start exploring London with guided sightseeing. Soar above the city aboard The London Eye in the evening.
This morning we’ll see the Changing of the Guard outside Buckingham Palace. Later, visit London’s markets, including Borough Market, Camden Market and Portobello Road Market. There is free time this evening in Kensington and Chelsea, before team games in Hyde Park.
Venture out of London today to visit Stratford-upon-Avon, the birthplace of poet and playwright William Shakespeare. Visit Shakespeare’s place of birth and the cottage of Anne Hathaway, Shakespeare’s wife.
Start the day with a guided tour of Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre. Take an afternoon walk, on a tour of the South Bank along the famous Thames Path. Enjoy a behind-the-scenes tour of the National Theatre this evening, witnessing set building and prop making.
Attend a West End morning workshop, covering improvisation skills, character building, text and voice. Then go on a walking tour of the West End. This afternoon, visit the Barbican Center, a world-class arts and learning center. Tonight, see a West End Show, “Matilda the Musical” or similar.
In the morning, visit the Natural History Museum or perhaps the Science Museum. A second workshop at the West End fills the afternoon, focusing on scenes, choreography or staging. During this evening’s free time, watch the street performers in Covent Garden’s Piazza and James Street.
Visit Bath today to see the Roman Baths and admire the Royal Crescent. For the final evening in London, experience Stonehenge, one of the wonders of the world and the best-known prehistoric monument in Europe.
